  • What is a Change of Program?

    Change of Program is changing your major (General Business to Marketing or Finance or Computer Science to Cybersecurity) or starting a new degree level (Undergraduate to Masters).

    Change of Program Instructions:

    F-1 student who plan on changing their program or level of study must obtain a new Form I-20 to reflect that change.

    What do I need to do in order to change a major?

    Discuss the change with your Immigration Advisor. Submit the following:

    • A copy of your Degree Plan from your Academic Advisor as well as your Degree Works showing your new major/program.
    • A copy of your most recent Visa, Passport, and I-94.

    If the change of major extends beyond your current length of of your study in the U.S. noted on your I-20, submit the following documents to OIA:

    • Original Financial Statements (note: document must show one year of expenses) or if less time is needed, equal to the length of time needed to finish the program.
